On 12/20/2025 police responded to a domestic violence call on Chili Avenue in the 19th Ward. Officers reported gunfire after arriving. Three officers were shot and transported to the hospital. Police opened fire and killed the man at the scene. Roads surrounding the intersection were shut down for hours as investigators processed the area.
