On 12/16/2025 deputies with the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office attempted a traffic stop on a motorcyclist near the 300 block of Virginia Street NE. The rider left the location and was encountered by deputies on the 300 block of Wisconsin Street NE. Under unclear circumstances the situation escalated and deputies opened fire and killed the rider at the scene.
