On 12/21/2025, officers with the New York City Police Department responded to an apartment on Nameoke Street for a domestic dispute involving Chez Frey. Police stated he held a box cutter in the hallway and ignored commands to drop it. A stun gun was deployed unsuccessfully and an officer opened fire. Frey was transported to a hospital and died.
