On 12/20/2025, deputies responded at 1:12 a.m. to a call reporting a suicidal and intoxicated man at a residence on Highway OO. Deputies reported hearing a gunshot and searched the property before encountering the man outside the home. The encounter escalated, and deputies opened fire and killed him. The state Division of Drug and Crime Control is conducting an independent investigation.
