On 12/20/2025, Houston police responded to reports of gunfire at the Redstone Apartments on Werner Street. Officers encountered a barricaded man and evacuated nearby residents. During the standoff multiple gunshots were heard and officers ordered him to drop the gun. The man died by suicide while police were present.
