OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 12/21/2025 at about 8:30 a.m., Bexar County sheriff’s deputies responded to a reported domestic disturbance at a home in the Timberwood Park area near San Antonio. A woman had called 911 reporting that her estranged partner had forced his way into her residence with their children inside. When deputies entered the home, the man opened fire with a handgun and struck two deputies, one in the hand and one in the hip. The deputies returned fire, striking and killing the 38-year-old man, identified by authorities as Jose Arley Fernandez-Solano. The woman and children escaped unharmed. Both injured deputies were taken to the hospital and are expected to recover. The suspect had a lengthy criminal history and was wanted on outstanding warrants, according to the sheriff’s office.
