On 12/26/2025, 77-year-old John Drake opened fire outside and inside the Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office in Wallace, Idaho, injuring three people, including two civilians and one deputy. Law enforcement responded with multiple agencies and engaged Drake during a standoff. He was shot and killed by officers inside the sheriff’s office building.
