On 12/24/2025, Lynchburg police responded to a reported disturbance on the 500 block of 5th Street in Lynchburg, Virginia. Officers encountered 38-year-old Orlando “Terrel” Harding and attempted to make an arrest. During the encounter, police deployed a Taser on Harding. Shortly after being taken into custody, Harding went into cardiac arrest. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.
