OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 12/30/2025, 39-year-old Brent Elvin Ivy of Dacula, Georgia, was shot and killed by Gwinnett County police officers after a traffic stop turned into a pursuit and encounter on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard near Winters Chapel Road in Norcross, Georgia. Officers were attempting to stop Ivy’s vehicle around 11:30 p.m. in connection with a wanted vehicle; according to authorities, Ivy rammed a marked patrol car and fled, leading officers on a pursuit that ended in a crash. After crashing, Ivy ran on foot, and despite multiple commands to stop, allegedly drew a firearm and pointed it at officers. At that point, officers fired their weapons, striking him. Ivy was pronounced dead at the scene. No officers were injured, and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation is leading the ongoing investigation into the incident.
