OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 01/09/2026, Cedar Hill police responded to a 911 call reporting that a vehicle had been shot at along southbound Highway 67 near Joe Wilson Road. Officers located the vehicle stopped on the shoulder. A woman exited the passenger side and was shot by the driver. Afterward, the driver exited the vehicle and allegedly pointed a firearm at responding officers. Officers opened fire, striking him. He was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The Texas Rangers are conducting an independent investigation into the shooting.
