On an early January 2026 morning, officers with the Roseville Police Department responded to a medical emergency call at a home in Roseville, California, where a 7-year-old girl was found unresponsive with severe injuries. The child was transported for medical care but was pronounced dead. A younger sibling was also discovered injured inside the home and taken to a hospital for treatment. Investigators determined the girl’s injuries were consistent with ongoing physical abuse. The child’s mother and her partner, former Citrus Heights PD officer Retuquel Dupree were taken into custody. Authorities later confirmed the partner was a former reserve police officer previously affiliated with the Citrus Heights Police Department who had been fired after 2 months of employment. Both adults were arrested and booked on charges including murder, felony child abuse, and conspiracy. The surviving children were removed from the home and placed into protective custody as the homicide investigation continues.
