On 12/12/2021, police received reports of a robbery involving a firearm at a restaurant on San Pablo Avenue. An off duty University of California Berkeley police officer inside the restaurant confronted Amanuel Aman Moreno during the incident. The officer fired one shot and struck him. Moreno died inside the restaurant. Authorities initiated investigation of the shooting and reported no criminal charges at the time of public reporting.
