OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 12/08/2021, an off duty Chicago police officer shot Andris Wofford during a confrontation inside an apartment on North Nashville Avenue. The officer reported an argument occurred and stated Wofford handled a firearm during the dispute. The officer left the apartment after the shooting and discarded the gun before her family later found her deceased inside the residence. Authorities arrested and charged the officer with murder. A jury acquitted him in May 2024 after trial proceedings examining the circumstances of the shooting.
