OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 12/06/2021, deputies responded to reports of gunfire directed into a residence on Southeast Moreland School Road and located Douglas Halphin nearby. Deputies reported Halphin drove a vehicle into a SWAT vehicle during the response and then lifted a rifle toward officers. A deputy opened fire and struck him. He died on the roadway near the residence. Authorities initiated investigation of the shooting and reported no charges at the time of public reporting.
