OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 12/28/2025, Grand Prairie Police Department officers responded to a residence in the 1600 block of Avenue B after a man shot a woman and shot his adult son inside the home. The son escaped and alerted neighbors. Officers established a perimeter and initiated a standoff. During the standoff, Somsac D. Thidavanh shot himself. Officers entered the residence and confirmed his death. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene and the injured son was transported for medical treatment.
