OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
Simpson County deputies responded to a domestic disturbance call on Highway 545. When police arrived, the man ran to a cemetery, then stole a police vehicle and was chased by police during which time, he struck 2 vehicles with the cruiser. He finally stopped at the Quick Stop gas station on Highway 49 when he exited the police cruiser with an AR-15. It is believed that this may have been the service rifle in the patrol car. Police shot and killed him.
