On 06/04/2022, San Diego Police Department officers responded to the 11200 block of Tierrasanta Boulevard regarding an armed individual. Officers encountered the man during the investigation. Police reported he was armed during the confrontation. Officers discharged their firearms and shot him. He was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department opened an independent investigation.
