OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 06/14/2022, Woodstock Police Department officers responded to 13 Slayton Terrace after reports of a man armed with a firearm and making threats. Officers secured the area and established a perimeter. During the standoff, a gunshot was heard from inside the residence. Officers later entered and located Jay Wilson, 35, deceased from an apparent self inflicted gunshot wound. No officers fired their weapons during the incident. The Vermont State Police Major Crime Unit assumed control of the independent investigation, and the death was ruled a suicide under police duress.
