OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 08/29/2022, Walker J. Porretto shot and killed 18-year-old Redha Sayed and injured her sister at a residence near Friendswood in Harris County. Law enforcement identified Porretto as the shooter and began searching for him. On 08/30/2022, members of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Warrants Unit located him inside a vehicle parked near Interstate 45 North in Willis. As deputies approached the vehicle to take him into custody, Porretto shot himself. He was transported to a hospital in critical condition and later died from the self-inflicted gunshot wound.
