OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 07/05/2023, Oakdale police officers responded to the 1200 block of Glenbrook Avenue North after receiving a report of a man sitting in a parked vehicle. Officers approached the vehicle to check on the occupant, later identified as 40-year-old Keith Lavance Lewis. As officers made contact, Lewis shot himself with a handgun inside the vehicle. He died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension investigated the incident.
