On 09/30/2023, Dodge County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Fox Lake police responded to a report of an armed man in mental crisis in a residential area of Fox Lake. Law enforcement established a perimeter and locked down the neighborhood during a standoff that lasted approximately two hours. While officers maintained containment and attempted to manage the situation, the man was later found dead inside the home from a self inflicted gunshot. Reporting described one gun involved and confirmed the death occurred during the active law enforcement standoff response.
