On 09/26/2023, Duluth Police Department officers responded to a residence in the 1000 block of 86th Ave W involving an armed individual. Law enforcement established a perimeter and engaged in a standoff situation at the home. After a period of containment, officers entered and located the man deceased from an apparent self inflicted gunshot wound. Reporting described one gun involved and confirmed the fatal injury occurred during the active police standoff response.
