Event : Motorcycle driver killed by police chase crash

On 07/08/2026, a Robertsdale police officer attempted to stop Dana P. Wetherbee, 62, who was operating a 2011 Harley-Davidson Glide Ultra motorcycle. Wetherbee continued driving, and a police pursuit followed. During the pursuit, the motorcycle collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Alabama Highway 59 and Pennsylvania Street. Wetherbee was thrown from the motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is investigating the pursuit and crash.
