Wayne County Sheriff’s Office tried to traffic-stop a vehicle on KY-90 in Clinton County because they felt the vehicle may be the same one that had committed a hit-and-run elsewhere earlier. Deputy Cross escalated a chase that because very high-speed, dangerous and tactical and the vehicle being chased and the deputy’s patrol car collided twice during the chase. Deputy Cross alleges that Mark Buchanan tried to hit him a third time and that this is the reason he shot and killed Buchanan while driving. Police allege that this stopped the vehicle and they found the man dead.
