Wichita PD arrived at a mental health crisis with domestic disturbance in which a man made suicidal statements. Police arrived and it is unknown what unfolded by the situation deteriorated with police attempting to force-search him for guns and he allegedly pulled a gun from his waistband and was shot and killed. Police have a very poor record of resolving such situations without escalating violence and mental health specialists should be involved in all such calls.
