Indianapolis Metro PD attempted to pull an allegedly stolen truck over shortly before 5 p.m. near E. 19th St. and Campbell Ave. Police had been notified that a gun was possibly inside the stolen vehicle. The driver, George Leachman, allegedly stopped but then backed up and rammed into the police car, disablingit, then drove away.
Leachman crashed into two more police vehicles.At another location, the truck backed up again and slammed into another IMPD car, causing its airbags to deploy, disabling the vehicle. The truck then crashed into a third IMPD car, disabling the vehicle and causing the airbags to deploy. A total of 3officers were transported to a nearby hospital with minor injuries. Two officers shot and killed Leachman.
