On 05/19/2024, at approximately 2:00 a.m., Shreveport Police Department officers targeted a vehicle at Airport Park on Kennedy Drive. Officers approached the driver, identified as 54-year-old Terrence Leejay, who fled. Officers escalated a 20-minute pursuit that ended in the 300 block of Lake Street.

Leejay exited the vehicle and shot himself. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. The Shreveport Police Department is investigating the incident.
