OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 04/26/2023 at approximately noon, deputies with the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office went to a residence near Baco Drive and Blairs Lane in Placerville to serve a narcotics-related search warrant. Thomas Michael Signor, 32, opened the door holding what deputies described as a firearm. Deputies opened fire, striking him. He died from his injuries.
Deputies secured the residence after the shooting and confirmed no additional individuals were inside. Investigators reported locating multiple weapons inside the home. The firearm Signor was holding was collected as evidence.
A multi-agency team conducted the investigation under the El Dorado County Critical Incident Protocol, including the El Dorado County District Attorney’s Office, Placerville Police Department, and South Lake Tahoe Police Department. As of the last public reporting, authorities had not released the names of the deputies who fired.
