Deandre Shepard Jr. was being chased by Gardena PD on April 16, 2023 at about 2:40 a.m. and crashed and died at 94th Street and Harvard Boulevard. A Gardena PD patrol officer saw him driving recklessly in the city of Gardena and began chasing him which ended when he crashed and died. The officer’s car allegedly became disabled during the high-speed chase and Shepard crashed shortly after that.
