Seal Beach PD allege that during a traffic stop attempted to pull over a female driver for a traffic violation near the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Fifth Street, a woman switched seats with a male passenger who then fled with an infant in the car. Despite being aware of the infant, police escalated a chase that led to a crash, injuring 8 and killing 1 person. The fleeing driver took off on foot and was tasered and sent to the hospital together with the woman and infant. Their conditions are unknown. Third party motorist Sara Shorteno was killed by the police chase and resulting crash.
