Around 1:35 a.m., Pennsylvania State troopers tried to stop a vehicle for traffic violations. The vehicle did not stop and troopers escalated a chase. Troopers allege that they lost sight of the vehicle by I-81 North, Exit 72A, Lower Paxton Township and found the vehicle crashed into a tree shortly after near N. Mountain Road at its overpass of I-81. The three people inside were found dead.
