Indianapolis PD attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle that kept driving. IMPD escalated a high-speed chase and allegedly called it off during high risk but the vehicle crashed, T-boning another vehicle, killing both drivers and a passenger including a total of 2 third party motorists who were hit by the police chase crash. It is not immediately known who the drivers and passengers were but the fatalities are named as Makayla Hankins (21), Christian Leyba-Gonzalez (14) and Jose Gonzalez Jr. (32).
So far, IMPD has provided no explanation why they undertook this high-risk multi-fatality chase in city traffic.
