George Arness was killed when the vehicle he was operating was involved in a crash with Texas City police officer Joseph Waggoner at about 10 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of FM 1764 and FM 2004. The Texas City police officer was responding to the La Marque area to assist with a call. The sheriff's office could not say if the officer had his lights on at the time. It's also unclear how fast the officer was driving and police did not comment who was at fault in the crash.
