Maryland State Police on March 6, tried to remove a disabled car from a median. Corporal Kevin Moore, who was on-duty and driving his agency-issued marked Ram truck to the scene, for reasons police could not explain, in the process hit Clark who was driving a 2006 Honda Ridgeline. This first crash caused a chain reaction with the Ridgeline crashing into a 2007 Honda Accord afterward.
MSP states that third party motorist 73-year-old Daniel Clark who had been hit by the trooper was taken to the hospital where he died 9 days later from injuries.
