A Hillsborough County deputy with his lights allegedly activated was driving at unknown speeds south on US-301 trying to make a traffic stop on a vehicle when a motorcycle driving northbound on US-301 when the collision occurred, killing the motorcyclist. From what little information is available so far, it was stated that the officer attempted a turn onto Ayersworth in pursuit of someone across the path of the motorcycle but more information is needed what occurred. The event was not a simple traffic collision but the result of a third-party motorist being killed in a crash with a Hillsborough deputy who was involved in another pursuit.
