Township police tried to stop a vehicle that had allegedly run a red light. When the vehicle did not stop, police escalated a high-speed chase which ended when Jonathan Wood crashed into a high-voltage powerline. He was airlifted out and died from injuries. A total of 6000 customers were left without power due to the chase crash which had been escalated by police because of a traffic infraction.
