On 02/16/2023 at around 7 p.m., 79-year-old Britt Madden Sr. was driving a gray Dodge Charger. He was stopped on Hutto Road at Rockmart Highway attempting to cross the roadway going north to get to Lindsey Chapel Road and as he entered the roadway, a speeding patrol car that allegedly had its lights and sirens activated slammed into him and Britt Madden Sr. was killed. The officer was not charged.
