On 01/31/2023, 46-year-old Christopher Teagarden and 49-year-old Timothy Schultz were driving through Panorama City together on January 31, 2023 after getting some tacos. At the intersection of Woodman Avenue and Lanark Street in Panorama City, a truck slammed into them at high speed. Believed to be a stolen vehicle, LAPD had escalated a high-speed chase and the fleeing vehicle crashed into the vehicle of Teagarden and Schultz, killing both men. No officers were charged for initiating the high-risk chase in a densely populated area.
