Investigator Taylor Jaimeson Bristow of the Carroll County Sheriff's Office was fatally injured during a warrant service on August 20, 2024, while assisting the Georgia Bureau of Investigation with a child sexual exploitation investigation. The wanted individual opened the door and allowed the officers to enter the residence. Once inside, the individual attempted suicide, firing a handgun, which also struck Investigator Bristow.
