After completing his pistol qualification, Investigator Herbert began reloading his magazines for the rifle assessment when he experienced discomfort, including heartburn and overheating. Seeking relief, he moved to a shaded area, but his condition worsened, leading to chest pain and loss of consciousness. Colleagues initiated CPR, and he was transported to Cleveland Area Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
