Officer Danny Wright was sent to a disturbance call involving Dimitri Calvert with a knife. The officer yelled “drop the knife” many times, threatening Calvert with a pointed gun. Calvert was known to have mental health issues needing support and was escalated by the event. Police shot and killed him in front of his parents who insisted that the situation could have been defused without killing Calvert.
