On October 23, 2024, a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Border Patrol pursuit occurred on State Route 905 near Otay Mesa, California, reportedly involving suspected human smuggling. The vehicle, a four-door Infiniti G35, lost control during the chase and crashed into a stationary Caltrans truck around 2:20 PM. The crash resulted in the deaths of two passengers, including an unidentified Latino woman. Another individual was injured in the crash.
