On 12/27/2023, at approximately 3:46 a.m., Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to reports of gunfire near Placid Street and Maulding Avenue in Las Vegas. Upon arrival, officers discovered a deceased female victim, identified as Justin Davidson's mother. Justin Davidson fled the scene and carried out a series of armed carjackings and shootings. Two civilians were killed during the incident: one was fatally shot during an armed carjacking, and another was killed in a separate confrontation with Davidson.
