On October 4, 2021, just after 6:30 p.m., Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to a domestic disturbance call at 4100 Silver Dollar Avenue. Upon arriving and exiting their vehicles, Demetrius Roberts allegedly opened fire on the officers. The officers opened fire, but Roberts fled the scene. After a brief chase on foot, officers re-engaged Roberts, leading to a second exchange of gunfire where Roberts was fatally shot.
