On January 29, 2025, Stow Police Department officers responded to a residence on Timber Top Drive in Stow, Ohio, following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they discovered Latoia Philpott deceased from apparent gunshot wounds. Evidence indicated that her boyfriend, Deputy Benjamin Asiedu of the Summit County Sheriff's Office, shot her before turning the gun on himself. Asiedu was also found deceased at the scene. The incident is under investigation.
