On January 30, 2025, at approximately 4:00 p.m., DeKalb County Sheriff's deputies, in collaboration with the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, attempted to arrest 34-year-old Marquiece Beadle at the Covington Glen Apartments in Decatur, Georgia. Beadle was wanted on charges of murder and other offenses. As deputies approached, Beadle fled the scene and allegedly reached for a firearm, prompting deputies to discharge their weapons. Beadle was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is conducting an investigation into the incident.
