On July 24, 2025, Cobb County Police engaged in a high-speed pursuit with Benjamin Alstoft on I-75 near Red Top Mountain Road. During the chase, officers executed a PIT maneuver, causing Alstoft’s vehicle to crash. He died from injuries sustained in the wreck. Authorities have not disclosed the reason for the pursuit.
