OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 06/28/2025, just before 9 a.m., Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to a shooting at East 42nd Street and Mitthoeffer Road on the far east side of Indianapolis. Three people were shot, two of whom died from their injuries, and one was hospitalized in critical condition. One individual fled the scene in a vehicle, and officers escalated a high-speed pursuit. The pursuit ended in a crash. Following the crash, police shot and killed the individual. Two additional people were taken into custody. The incident remains under investigation.
