OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On September 4, 2025, at approximately 3:39 a.m., Locust Grove officers responded to a house fire on Cadence Street. They forced entry and encountered Stefan Lee, 29, holding a large knife. After firing Tasers and beanbag rounds failed, Lee moved toward officers and was shot and killed at the scene. Firefighters extinguished the blaze and discovered Jazzlyn Philips, 26, deceased in an upstairs bedroom due to severe burns. Authorities evacuated two women and a child who were locked inside another bedroom. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is conducting the investigation, and the results will be forwarded to the Henry County District Attorney’s Office.
