On 09/19/2025, Springfield police attempted to stop a truck for speeding. The driver, identified by family as Patrick Foley, ran from the vehicle and onto South Isabella Street. An officer deployed a taser, causing him to fall face-first onto a gravel path where he sustained severe facial bleeding. He was transported to Miami Valley Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is conducting an investigation.
